TAKEOVER TARGET FOR JULY CUP

Australia's most popular racehorse, Takeover Target will be prepared for next month's July Cup at Newmarket after missing Saturday's Golden Jubilee Stakes with a temperature.

Takeover Target was withdrawn on Friday, after trainer Joe Janiak revealed the horse had been lethargic leading up to his race at the Royal Ascot meeting. His higher-than normal temperature is back to normal and he will be prepared for the July 10 race.

The July Cup, run over 1200m and featuring a stiff uphill climb, is expected to bring together an awesome line-up as trainers draft their way forward after the five-day Ascot meeting.
Australia's newest overseas sensation, Scenic Blast, is favourite for the race.
